Drip

 

 

 

     For the first two days the syrup dripped steadily

     from the ceiling,  forming a continuous curtain

     of just visible sticky threads in the air.

     It drummed loudly as it ran into puddles on the

     plastic. Then the sugar started to set into long 

     stalactites, and thick wrinkled skin formed on the

     collected pools  below.

 

     By the fourth day there was no  movement any

     more although the bags still hung half full.
